Fires once again are tops in our response.   As the heating season approaches let's make sure we are safe and have a plan in the event something does happen.

NORTH CENTRAL MISSOURI CHAPTER IS SUPPORTING OTHER DISASTERS WITH  VOLUTEERS!

For the first time, the North Central Missouri Chapter has been able to send local residents to support those impacted by disaster in other areas.  We are very happy that the people of our area are thinking outside the area to give help and hope to those hit by disaster in Joplin and those hit by hurricane Irene and tropical storm Lee.

RED CROSS ANNOUNCES DAY OF HEROES AWARDS RECIPIENTS

The North Central Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2012 Day of Heroes Awards. Award recipients include:

King Foundation Education Hero – Dr. Jack Magruder (Kirksville)

Public Safety Heroes - Officer Maurice Crowe (Elmer), Detective Jeremy Cordray, and Detective Justin Jones (Kirksville)

Extraordinary Personal Action Award - Mark Munn, David Kinney, and Joe Young (Kirksville)

Good Samaritan Heroes - Michael Cantril (Memphis) and Doyle Dover (Kirksville)

Family Heroes - Carol Stanley (Downing) and Jason and Sarah Rouse (Unionville)

Military Hero - SFC Bradley Young (Kirksville)

The award recipients will be honored at the Day of Heroes Recognition Event on Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Baptist Student Union (110 W. Normal Street). Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The evening will include dinner and silent auction. Tickets are $25 per person and may be purchased from the North Central Missouri Chapter office (315 S. Piper the puppy is a new fund raiser that connects you the donor to those impacted by disaster.  For a $50 donation, your name goes on the foot of Piper.  When a child loses a home to disaster they will receive a Piper the Puppy with your name as the donor.  You will then receive an email saying "Your Piper the Puppy was given to a child who lost her home to disaster.  Thank you for your help"
